Printmaking and light

The exhibition “Printmaking and Light” showcases the work of Aratz Azpiri, featuring prints created using various techniques—specifically photogravure, drypoint, and woodcut. These techniques are employed—sometimes in combination—to produce monotypes (unique prints).

The exhibition creates an interplay between lighting and the prints; in some instances, viewers can interact with the artworks using their own shadows, while in others, light shines from behind the pieces, playing with planes and transparency. Subtle details, such as tiny fissures, areas of opacity, and transparencies emerge within the works, inviting the viewer to pay close attention to the nuances of the exhibition.
